Whats the biggest thread?

After looking today how high “Why do you care?” got up to—i couldnt help think of whats the most looks and replies a thread has got? That one must be it, eh? Whats the theoretical maximum for a topic to max out at?

Click on “Views” or “Replies” at the header over the columns to sort the entire database by those items. “why do you care” seems to be in second place.

.

forgetting “ignore this thread” which has something like 250 replies as of this writing, here you go, as of 1/10/03:

What is your responsibility during a race? (69 replies)
Why do you care? (57 replies)
Angry rant over bicycle car racks (43 replies)
Weight training and cycling (43 replies)
Define the term: “poser” (42 replies)

on the subject of “ignore this thread” we hate to make people work in vain, but i strongly suspect i’m going to strip out the “novice”/“user” feature, because frankly speaking this forum takes up four-fifths of the processing power and memory capacity of our server (the entire rest of the slowtwitch site takes up the other one-fifth). it’s apparent that this forum databases how many times a user posts, and recalculates it every time. to me, that’s processor power pissing up a rope. so it gets shit-canned methinks, along with a couple of other really compelling features of this forum.

Sounds like the “spell check” is history? Rats! I really like the spell check.

You’ll automatically get more space when Tom Demerly gets past the young french things bicycle seat. Just kidding, Tom. Good Luck!!!

Get rid of the feature, it is meaningless because of the ‘ignore this thread’ type of thing. I think people also throw a me too type of reply sometimes to up the post count. Just shows how competitive some triathletes are.
