Whats New....Brooks Spring 2010

Whats new Brooks Spring 10
This season brooks starts to gradually say goodbye to their old friend “hydroflow” (their proprietary cushioning component). They are replacing it in the Glycerin 8 with a new material they have developed that they are calling “DNA”. DNA is touted as an adaptable cushioning material which will adapt based upon the weight and speed of the individual runner to give the optimal cushion and energy return. I think their plans are to gradually introduce it into more shoes in their line-up over the next couple years. Pretty much all of the Brooks product changes are dated 1/1/10…… on to the shoes………much of this report I will copy directly from Brooks’ primer for this season and will save myself lots of time on this keyboard!
Glycerin 8 price increases to $130 will be offered in 3 widths for mens and womens, narrows, mediums and wides. Will have the profile sockliner and as stated above will introduce DNA and will retain the full length bio-mogo midsole. Mens 12.6 oz, womens 10.3 oz
From primer:Maintained: Universal sprung platform - length, width, volume, toe spring & fit Outsole Compound and Pod Placement - Flexalon rubber in forefoot offers soft but resilient ride and placement of outsole pods, flex groove location and depth, lug pattern, toe spring and ground contact all maintained Stacked midsole – both heel and forefoot stacked with full-length BioMogo Improved: DNA - adaptable cushioning that tunes the cushioning & resiliency of the ride to each and every runner’s size and speed Midfoot Wrap – uppers constructed with medial & lateral TPU saddle that articulates, confirms and secures the foot in place In-shoe Feel – updated with the new Profile Sockliner offering a better heel cup feel, sensation of arch support & more cushioned and resilient underfoot feel. Inherent Stability decoupled lateral sidewall - offers more lateral release allowing for a smoother and more compliant laydown wider base nets – increased widths of the heel and forefoot provide a more stable platform DRB Accel – one piece provides additional torsional rigidity to the midfoot while allowing a smoother heel to toe transition

Full Disclosure: I am sponsored by Brooks

I went to the Brooks Camp where they showed us the DNA technology a couple of months ago. Man…it’s going to be super cool. I also wear tested the Ghost 2 and just purchased two pairs as soon as I could.

Love where the Brooks brand is going and the feedback they wanted from us. The DNA stuff is so freaking cool I can’t wait to try it out.

Also, the Green Silence just looks Bad Ass and was surprisingly light and comfortable when I tried a test pair on. I really hope they increase the colors to some of the ones we saw at the Camp.

Thanks for the post, it is always good to see new tech. Any Pictures?
