Whats New Brooks Spring 08
For Spring 2008 Brooks has added an entirely new category to their line-up. This is a category placed between Neutral and Stability/Support shoes and is being referred to as the “Guidance” category.

Maintained lateral release grooves to midsole, added forefoot mudguards and met head stitching to improve forefoot capture. E material now sandwiched between 2 layers of mogo foam at heel. Last modified in forefoot to add some toe spring. Increased forefoot flex groove depth and expanded back toward midfoot for better flex. Opened EVA heel window for better rearfoot cushion.
Defyance April 1 availability , $90 msrp
FINALLY! Brooks has taken Asics idea of the nonposted 2100 (aka Landreth) and done it with the Adrenaline. This shoe is a neutral model of the Adrenaline 7 by removing the Progressive DRB. Initially just medium widths are available but Wides will be added in June. This shoe IMO is going to do VERY well!

Full length MOGO midsole, mild pronation control. Split MOGO in forefoot with E material sandwiched between. Supposed to be a very plush forefoot feel. Sprung Last in the forefoot to achieve increased toe spring. Open window in heel unit promotes increased heel cushion. Medium widths only

2 12 month colors for mens and womens main color(plus black in mens) now not only in narrow, medium and wide but also now coming in extra wide (4E mens and 2E womens) best way to sum this up is “if it aint broke don’t fix it” Brooks hasn’t made a lot of changes to this shoe. Same posting, slightly reduced 1st met head window size for improved forefoot capture, increased flex lines in heel crumple areas allowing for larger area of impact shortening the lever arm effect at heel strike, opened heel geometry to again dampen heel strike.
Beast/Ariel color update is coming in October, also will be offering the black color in 4E widths now.
Addiction 8 price increase to $95 5/01/08 release
Will have one color for a 12 month cycle, plus mens will be available in black with the black even coming in widths. Biggest change is the advance to MOGO midsole! Increased height of medial sidewall in forefoot. Medial midsole redesigned to keep from any “crumpling”, changed angle of distal end of medial post to improve forefoot flex. Change of toe box on medial side with a “wingtip” type addition that helps toe box to stand up and should give feeling of added depth. Some mild increase in surface area contact by redesigning some of the lugs. Looks really good overall.

2 mens and 2 womens colors, one more muted one more bright. Update looks really good! Advances to MOGO midsole. Still getting input from Scott Jurek on design of this shoe. Added a new lateral forefoot pivot to again give more lateral stability for uneven terrain and gives some proprioceptive feedback to reduce lateral ankle sprains. Softer more pliable upper, added some downhill lugs but overall less number of lugs to enhance devris release, more symmetrical heel, no lateral bias as before.
