Just as I thought it’s just the current quirk. I’m not much a fan of them. I mean some of the print looks great on a computer screen but I feel like it wouldn’t suit me.
I thought that trend ran its course like 10 years ago.

On a serious note, I wear them because I’m bald and feel like they breath better than the closer fitting running hats. The also don’t force ice down onto your head when you load it full. I haven’t had a burnt scalp yet, so the mesh does a fine job in that regard, but I suppose it’s still possible.
98% of running hats don’t fit on my head at their loosest setting, so truckers are way more rad than running hats

I don’t like how visors look but also they don’t hold in a small bag of ice very well. I just prefer a trucker hat. I’m not trying to eeek out some remaining seconds to podium

Don’t like the high brim of truckers, but visors will not reflect the sun off your head. Very important in hot races.

Visors are equally a trend, but simply one that is “out†at the moment. It isn’t like the visor itself solved a serious unmet need that wasn’t solvable with a hat.
Trucker hats look coolest, hands down. But I don’t like the closing strap and the thicker material of the front part cause I feel it works as a dampener while the back is great for air flow.
Running hats look goofy but the material might transfer sweat better
Visors are golf BS, BUT bring a large sweat band on the forehead and since I’m not sporting a bold scalp a chose them when it’s hot

Agree. I’m in the visor camp. I think the trucker hats look silly. I’m old school so I think the flat brimmed hats, whether trucker or not, look silly too.
