That is a steal. I have had these wheels since Spring (4k miles) and love them. I came from Mavic Ksyrium Elites. The Easton is a much better wheel in my opinion.
I think the only place to get these wheels is through Performance. Branded specifically for them.
Not sure about this one, but I was thinking the ones at Performance were “a Performance exclusive”. In other words… A cheaper, crappier version of these wheels that PB can sell for less than the real ones. Don’t recall specifics so I may be talking out of my butt here.

I hope Easton wouldn’t put their name on an inferior product.
I think the “PB exclusive” happens when the buy such a large quantity, not the quality.
I just happened to be in there yesterday looking for a cheap trainer wheel and asked about the Easton’s. Was just told they were made exclusively for them. It’s not a rebranded Forte wheel set.

I don’t think they would put their name on crap either, just to sell it at PB. It’s just a lower quality Easton wheel. Again, I don’t have the facts in front of me, but I thought at one time they sold both the EA90slx and the “special edition ea90slx” and they were both Easton wheels, but maybe different spokes / hubs. And the “special” ones were cheaper.
You can buy the EA90slx wheels elsewhere. I didn’t check specs to see if they were the same wheels or not.
I work at performance and I am intimately familiar with these wheels. They are not the high end bearings nor the new graphics and red nipples that come with the non P-town exclusive version. They are a great deal at 479.99 + 15% off if you use the coupon in the mailer. The new sale price started Nov 1. I have seen some BIG dudes on them with no issues.

Not to mention the 10% credit for team members.
Thanks for the insight about the differences.

Careful - several team members have had issues with these wheels (both the R4 hub and spoke breaking) with heavy training/racing use. Nice wheel though, just not sure about “durability”
There is one pair left at dotg. 374, free shipping.
