What were those hybrid platform pedals in the 80's called?

Allowed you to wear your running shoes on the bike?

Not just toe straps on regular flat pedals, this was a whole platform that supported the entire bottom of the shoe I think

As mentioned, there were two main ones: Thompson Timeless Transition, and Pyro Platforms.

Those platforms look heavy. Mind you, so much has changed since the '80’s as this pic of me in transition at Atlanta in 1989 shows. Not just the clip-in pedals.

I broke two sets of TTTP’s. The Pyros were way better. I still use Pyros today. For sprint duathlons you cant beat them.
