What type of pannier rack will fit my old school Schwinn Traveler?

I have an old school Schwinn traveler that I use to commute. I want to add a panier rack to take the load from my back to the frame. Since the seatstays do not have bolt holes I will need a different type of rack than on my specialized rockhopper.

Any advice? I love nashbar, so if someone could recommend one on their site, that would be best, otherwise any recommendation is appreciated.

Here is a picture of the bike for reference:

Got a few options there.

-P-clips and a standard rack. Obviate the need for eyelets.

-seatpost rack, these actually work well wil smaller front panniers.

-maybe a seatpost mounted rucksack from Klickfix, these are lovely things.

Nice bike by the way.

Seatpost racks are intriguing… anyone have much luck with them? Can they handle the load of standard racks (even though I don’t pack heavy panniers often)?

Normally rated to 10kg/22lbs.

I just fitted one to a mate’s road bike for commuting, and he likes it a lot. Make sure you get one with the mini side supports for the bottom clip of the pannier.

Like I say, using detachable front panniers are probably a better option to balance the load on a seatpost mount as the centre of gravity is that bit higher.

The Ascent Pannier Seatpost Rack from Nashbar is the one you want, just swap out the QR on the mount for some real bolts as I imagine it wouldn’t last long on the bike otherwise!!
