What model Cervelo is this?

Is it a track bike?

P3SL - an aluminium version ahead of the P3C I believe
.

Nope: gears and brakes, then it’s a tri/tt bike. These old alu cervelo’s (p2sl, p3sl, dual, soloist…) can still do very well on short/sprint tri’s

ah cool thanks

I still use my alu 2004 Cervelo P3 for everything from super sprints to IM. With a trispoke, rear disc and updated cockpit I’m not giving up a ton of time on the bike.

This just came up in Facebook marketplace for me too fellow perthite…. $200, u in?

That looks like it might be the 650c version, judging by how the bb shell is shifted away from the wheel. If so (verify with the seller) then tire / wheel availability might be an issue.

No, you’re not. I think the only regret I have regarding bikes I’ve sold over the past 25 years is letting go of my yellow P3, which I also rode with a HED tri spoke and I HED disc. That bike was sweet - and responsive.

That model was available as 650c in size 48, and 700c in larger ones

the earlier ones were available in 650c up to a 54cm. it’s worth the question.

Pretty sure it’s not a p3sl, as I only remember that being available in a black matte kind of finish, maybe powerdercoated? whatever it was it had a unique look to it. That’s probably even a few years older and just a standard p3. My guess is it’s very early 2000’s vintage.

Yes. My 51" P2K had 650s.

Yes I had a P3SL that was a matte black thin powdercoat. I also had a first generation 2001 P3 that was factory painted blue as a limited edition for a local cervelo dealer. They also made it in yellow.
The OP bike looks like a first generation model with custom paint.

He doesn’t know. Might be stolen? He seems a bit suss!

It looks to me to be a year 2003 standard aluminum P3. The silver one and someone just painted the bike black except for around the Cervelo logos. The fork and frame paint around the logos match up.

Its the original aluminum P3.

P3SL was anodized black (no paint = “super light”)

as far as I can remember, those with the integrated 1"1/8 headset (like the one in the OP picture) were 650c only in size 48; but I’ll go checking the old brochures to make sure

the P2K was an earlier generation, with the external bearings headset

not all of them. there was a transition where the P2K and P3 used an internal 1" headset. (I own the 1" headset P2K, that’s another issue because finding replacement bearings is a PITA). I have no idea what they did with the wheel sizes at that time though.

I think it’s a 700c, but the visual is distorted because the wheels don’t have tires mounted. Incidentally, i have the same frame, now built up as a track bike.
