What kind of pad does Louis Garneau put in their tri shorts?

Last year I bought the TYR carbon tops and bottoms as well as De Soto Forza tops and bottoms and felt hands down that the De Soto stuff was more comfortable to me than the TYR.

I bought a pair of LG cycling shorts this last fall and really like them so far especially because they don’t have any leg grippers. I have nobody around here that sells their stuff and I was wondering what the pad was like, I seemed to like the De Soto fleece pad more than the built up TYR chamois. I also never liked the cut of the top on the TYR just never fit my body well and was sooo long on me.

If I can’t get enough details about trying LG then I may just get another set of De Soto to rock this year, may even try to get a pair of 400 shorts.

This is from my club team’s kit and maybe if you order it on your own it could be different but the LG tri shorts have the fleece chamois and leg grippers.

Hope this helps.

They use an LG pad. Not really being a smartass, just saying…

I have the Lazertek tri shorts and they’re my favorite of all I’ve worn. The pad is thin, but not just a piece of cloth like some I’ve tried (2XU compression comes to mind) and it has lots of little breathing holes. DeSoto’s pad is really nice too, I don’t use their stuff because their cut doesn’t fit me.

I have the women’s tri shorts and they have a different chamois. I don’t know if that’s a case of their team gear being different than the regular stuff that they sell.

To the OP, on their website they have some info about the chamois in each short. Click on the short and then under ‘technology’ I think it lists the pad.

The tri shorts (at least the women’s) have more chamois than the DeSoto, TYR or Zoot (I usually race in Zoot shorts), but I do all my training in them and don’t notice the chamois when running.

The LG tri-shorts that I have IIRC have some sort of fleece pad in them. I’m a bigger guy and while they fit me OK, I prefer my Sugoi Tri shorts (Piston 200 Compression Tri Shorts)
