What is up with Roka?

I have been a huge fan of the Roka swim wear for training but it seems to me they may be exiting the market of swimwear as there hasn’t been any inventory or updated suits on their sites in months. Does anyone have any insight on what the deal is?

Roka has been heavily invested in sunglasses recently. I was told they are evaluating their apparel lineup for 2018. I’ve told them many times I’m disappointed there is not any new gear out for cycling, running, or swimming. There is nothing left in my size for any of their apparel. I wanted to buy winter gear from them for cycling but Castelli got my money instead. I want some new kits but they don’t have anything to offer so I will have to go with someone else. Every other manufacturer has their spring/summer lineup out except Roka.

I have no answers.

Just disappointing, you find a brand you like, you want to support them but they still seem to run it like a startup. I find the same thing with Zoot as well. No more seasonal updates or consistent product to purchase. Oh well guess I will just have to find another brand.

In Zoot’s defense, the original owners bought the company back and are essentially starting over again. Roka has been around for 5 years.

I hope they’re not fizzling out of swimwear… wearing Roka jammers and I really like them. Time will tell.

They seem to be, since the beginning, trying to set themselves up to be bought out by one of the bigger players. Now with the move to sunglasses they are trying to attract the attention of Luxottica…

I really like their S1 goggle.

I tried their square- cut suits. I really liked the cut but the material didnt stretch that much at first, then lost elasticity after 6 weeks.

NOT the original owners. It’s a couple of long-time employees. Zoot has been around for eons. It’s great to see the brand being carried on. And we are talking about like 10yr+ employees. But still a far cry from the founders.

RIP Roka

I sure hope not.

I got the same response from them last fall and this spring when I asked when they would replenish their stock of swim jammers. I’ve been annoyed by the constant barrage of sunglasses’ email advertisements. I wear prescription sunglasses so doubly annoyed.

Not surprised. Over priced and far from Assos quality.

Are you equating Roka to Gold Star Chili?

I believe they make prescription ones…but I agree I am tired of all the sunglasses emails…I get it…you make great sunglasses…can we move on now?

sunglasses is their gateway to a broader niche. they killed cycling clothes because they were losing money on the investment.

Roka sold out of a lot of their cycling and run gear. It didn’t seem to me they were losing money.

Now, that actually makes a lot of sense. Sucks for us, because Roka had made pretty sweet apparel and of course wetsuits.

They have this cool link at the bottom that says “unsubscribe” & it will take care of that little issue for you.

Hehehe yes…I know…I have been considering that…

They’ve been spamming with emails selling their new wetsuits recently? Particularly a cold water suit
