I like Equifax credit watch as they allow you to set up your account they way you want. For example, you can get notifiy everything a credit check is performed or a percentage change with your credit card balance…etc.
I checked out my favorite financial geek website. here is what Clark Howard has posted:
I have no idea how much it costs, but due to a security screwup by my wife’s former company (I was listed as a dependent), I get free credit monitoring from Experian. They send me a monthly notice of my credit score, and notifications of any changes to my report (for instance, when we refinanced our mortgage).
I would think there are a billion web sites with info on how to improve your score.
I use annualcreditreport.com.
Each credit reporting agency has to allow you one free report per year. I rotate them and check a different one every 4 months. That keeps me at a comfort level that works for me. If you want your actual credit score, it’ll cost you a couple of bucks (under $10), and to me it’s worth it to see the actual number, but it’s by no means necessary. I’ve never felt the need for constant monitoring and automated reporting given the fees involved…but of course, you may feel differently.
Give me your social security number and I’ll tell you how to best monitor your credit score.
post your home address and a pic of your hot wife and I’ll mail all the details to you.
good site David. I ended up going to Quizzle.com
Why do you need a credit score? I thought Dave Ramsey was your financial guiding light?
He’s pretty proud that his credit score is 0.

Dave Ramsey has some good advice. but I do not follow every thing he says. I do use my Mobil card for an extra $0.15 off per gallon. he hates credit cards. but I prefer to pay at the pump…but I don’t pay for the pump…but I digress
