You cannot go wrong with Nitecore. Just go to Amazon and search for Nitecore flashlights. Then pick the one within your lumens and cost.
Good selection here. Thanks.

It’s way more useful than a strategic flashlight.
Only in the short run.
Well played, Sir, well played.
As an aside, I thought taclites had things like crenulated lens carrier.
I think the tactical flashlight has a CREE LED bulb and can be a spotlight or a floodlight. It makes all other flashlights obsolete. I gave my dad one and he loves it–not this one from amazon, but they all function alike.

Looks promising…
Trust me. The product claims that the spotlight extends to 660 ft with visible light to nearly 1000 ft, and I’m a believer. And it can be a floodlight. I’ve heard that it’s military technology trickling down–thus the “tactical”.
I will never own another incandescent flashlight, or one with LED’s that aren’t the CREE.
Tactical lights are one piece of the “Tacticool Starter Pack†that one needs to look like they are former operators.
For example…

Loom at the Fenix lineup. Got a set for honey and I last Christmas for running and riding, and they’re pretty badass. Around a 1000 lumens each (flashlight and headlamp combo) and adjustable brightness - very rarely do we ever use the brightest settings.
A little higher on price than some amazon jobs, but so far seems to be worth it.
I’m partial to Olight myself.
I like this one because it’s rechargeable and you can clip it to a hat to function as a head light.
Anker Rechargeable Bolder LC90 LED Flashlight, Pocket-Sized Torch with Super Bright 900 Lumens CREE LED, IPX5 Water-Resistant, Zoomable, 5 Light Modes, 18650 Battery Included https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01KH2JP5G/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_cggEFbPGWWAFF
I’ve had good luck with these and being rechargeable is nice.
this is supposedly pretty powerful:

.
Great. That’s gonna be in my amazon search history.
It’s a flashlight made by a flashlight company that hired a marketing company that told it the phrase “tactical” would sell more flashlights.
With men. Yes absolutely.
I have these and they are my favorites:

A 400 dollar fucking flashlight?
WITH accessories! Go big or go home! It IS “better” than the $100 mini-monster, BUT, the $100 mini-monster is my favorite. That said, if being used on the water, yeah, that $400 flashlight (with accessories) is worth it.
Do you, in fact, use it in the water?
My FIL owns a boat. I have never been out at night. Only time I’ve ever been out at night was in a canoe in Algonquin to go back to the parking lot to pick up an arriving friend. The flashlights were useless due to the fog on the lake.
That was a fun boat trip.
Let’s quit dicking around! 100,000 Lumens! Suck it, BLeP!
I once had a 2 million candlepower flashlight. It would light up the other side of the lake a km away.
It also took 12 hours to charge and would work for 30 minutes.
Shockingly, it nearly lit on fire while charging and never worked again after that.
Not what your price range is, but these lights are very well reviewed and not super expensive. I have one of these particular lights, and it has multiple settings, up to 2300 lumens. And with it having just a single rechargeable 18650 cell, this light is very compact compared to others.

That is just marketing.
Tactical Diaper bags on the other hand…

That’s nothing. If you have terrorist grade stubble make sure you use a tactical razor.

Black metal (or faux metal) casing with knurling. Checks out, tactical.

+1 on Zebralight. I have a couple of their headlamps, including the H600 that is the equivalent to the SC600 you linked to. I’ll put it this way: for 30 years I’ve bought a new headlamp every year or two as the tech improved. Since I bought my 1st Zebralight six years ago, I’ve only purchased one more light - another Zebralight. I have a small, light AA version for hiking and the like, and a larger brighter 18650 version for winter fatbiking and such.

Curious this one. It is double the price of my Vastou bike light but 200 lumens less.
I was looking on Amazon to buy a flashlight and quite a few are described as “tactical flashlight”. Sounds kinda militaristic to me. What does that mean?
And BTW, any recommendation? Looking for something with about 1200 Lumen, easy to hold.
A Tactical Flashlight is a regular flashlight but over priced and made to look like it is something a warfighter would use.
In reality, is it designed and marketed to take the money from guys will small penises who need to compensate. Guys with especially small wieners will pay $400 for one.
Anything from Amazon or Lowes/Home Depot will serve most purposes.
The only reason to spend big money on a flashlight is if you are mounting it to a firearm.

Yeah, I’ve never understood the appeal of a “tactical” flashlight. Yeah, Surefire or Streammakes some bombproof flashlights, but neither myself or anyone I know need anything like that when we’re tooling on the truck or doing aircraft maintenance. Coast makes perfectly good flashlights and headlamps (from Lowe’s) and I’ve yet to replace one (I use them everyday for preflighting).
I got caught up in the marketing for one of those 1,000 lumen rechargeable flashlights when I first started out and it was so bright and produced so much glare off of the aircraft components I was inspecting that I wouldn’t have been able to see a crack if my life depended on it. Most times, simpler is better.
