I did a combination of things on my morning commute ride that did not achieve the desired results. Because I started late, I didn’t blow my nose before I departed on my bike at 6:00 AM. About 10 minutes into the ride, I hit my first incline that brings me down to about 11 MPH. I can feel the nose starting to run and I try a sniffle to keep it in check. Well, that usually desn’t work. Something about riding and the snot turning liquid, it simply cannot be sniffled back in. So, I prepare for snot rocket launch - right nostril. Left index finger firmly placed against left nostril to close it, turn the head to the right, grab a big breath and blow forcefully out the right snothole. Guess what? The combination of too little wind force at 11 MPH, not blowing the nose before the ride and the mildly cold morning, the intial snot is not so liquid. In fact, it’s this rather tacky substance that has about 200% elasticity. So, this string shoots out the old blowhole, flaps around a bit, grows longer, then swings around to plant itself right on my face and glasses. I try to wipe it off, but that just smeared it around. My glasses were especially gunked up to the point I had to stop and clean them with some water. Cleaned my face, too. While I was just standing there, I decided to clear the other side. For this effort, I spread my feet, bent over a bit and blew. Ha! Nothing but street! Continue my ride to work. Subsequent snot rockets were the standard liquidy type. No worries.
Thanks for sharing…everybody say, eeeeeewwwwwwwww…
hahaha- nice. I needed a good laugh to wake up to.
I know you all have been worried about my progress on this issue. I’m happy to report that I had a perfect ejection, from both nostrils, this morning. Over the shoulder and onto the pavement, missing me completely.
Thank you for all the blessings and support. I am touched.
