I am curious also. www.davidgoggins.com has been gone for a while. on-line ordering on www.trainevil.com doesn’t work and the site hasn’t been updated in a while.
true, but i would think that the navy would want him more as an advertisement than have him being deployed. im sure thats how they had him for the previous years when he raced
i read his blog probably about a year ago and he had some back/leg injury or something like that
Seeing the Ultraman article made me wonder about Goggins. Does anyone know how he is doing or what he is up to?
I know he had heart surgery after some amazing ultra-distance performances but was scheduled to compete in the RAAM this year. And then… nothing.
The last time I checked out his blog there wasn’t anything recent. Any ideas?
Thanks!
Ray
I saw him jogging on the beach in Coronado with a big backpack on a couple of months back. He was leading the pack with a bunch of SEALs in his wake. He looked great. He is probably busy with his day job ; )
The “SEALs” in his wake were probably BUD/S students (trainees). He stated last year that he was done with running races forever. Remember, he hates running. That was the whole point of running so many ultras, and the hardest ones to raise money for the families of lost warriors. He switched to cycling, then got the unfortunate diagnosis and had surgery. He posted some blogs about his recovery from surgery, but that was the last I read. I don’t know him personally.
I think he has had two surgeries. He was also up for promotion or officer school or something. I heard he may have been here this weekend for Quad Dipsea but haven’t seen anyone who was there.
not going to get into a pissing contest here…but people like that are considered special duty and work outside of their normal duty scope…he has some qualifications he needs to maintain currency on that he does, but the day to day things he does not do…
The last time his wife posted was to say the they had achieved the fund raising goal. To which she hinted that the Board would go black and David would go back to being a SEAL. With all of his noteriety, it was deemed too dangerous for him to be used in “Risky” ops! David did not like this, but agreed to promote the SEALS fitness contest around the Country!
