What does "Overall" mean?

When you describe where you placed overall in a race what do base your answer on? Is it only where you placed in your respective sex or do you combine the two? I have seen it both ways and I personally only say what my place was out of all the males.

Overall to me means counting everyone, even the pros if there is a pro field. But I don’t count relays because well, they just don’t count.

Means everybody in the race except the teams.

It means that I have done the entire race in bib-overalls. Bodyglide, lots of Bodyglide.

Overall means everyone who did the (whole) race. Men, women, pros, ex-pros that some people thing shouldn’t be allowed to race AG but do anyway, that bastard who swam D1 in college and ran track in HS so he really ought to be a pro but isn’t, etc.

So…you don’t admit it when you get chicked?

X2. Learned that one the hard way once.

You need to include those who could have raced and would have kicked our ass if they’d come too. Yes, that includes Lance Armstrong and Chuck Norris.

I only include where I came in the bike and sometimes the run, but never the swim.

I wish that I could swim, bike, or run as fast as the women who “chick” me. My buddy at work likes to remind me that I got beat by a 14 year old girl in my first triathlon. In my defense I was using a mountain bike and swam like a brick.

overalls are a type of jeans, kind of, except they have a ‘bib’ with a pocket in the front and over the shoulder straps!

I desperately want some but they seem to only make them for preggo women.

That's not really correct though. Over **all. **Chrissy kicks arse and was the first woman, but she wasn't first over all.

You should say first woman over all. You need to count it when you get “duded”

First one across the line wearing these:

.

I agree with Flak. If you are the 22’nd person to cross the line (21 people had a faster time than you: 10 guys, 11 girls) you are 22’nd overall. You are also the 12’th girl overall and potentially the 3’nd (as an example) girl in the 25-29 age group, and you could also be the 1’st woman in the 25-29 age group with brown hair, 2 brothers and a dog. You can get to 1’st if you keep breaking down the group.

But the real answer is you either win (the lowest time), or you lose. If I’m the 2’nd person to cross the finish line, but the first guy or 2500’th person to cross the line, I still lost…

To date I have a perfect record. 0 wins and lots of losses, but I love the sport.

Overall means everyone, that’s why they are highlighting Chrissie’s 13th place as a significant finish, instead of just saying she won the women’s race.

TC, I don’t think this young lady looks preggo…

Drink some liquid oxygen and breathe 10 times within every 3 strokes to correct that…

True. But I like the ones Paulo posted that have legs to them.
