What do you consider a “disc road” bike?
I mean, there are reasonably lightweight frames with disc mounts and traditional road geometry that support tires that are centimeters wider than what road bikes usually use, like the Open UP.
A road bike that could support tires at least up to 35. I’m back to square one and looking for a gravel bike the one I ordered is on a long wait. So I’m coming at it from a different direction.
Cannondale Synapse will work I think

So if there was a road bike with disc brakes that couldn’t fit 35mm tires, you wouldn’t consider it to be a disc road bike?
No I’m looking for a road bike that could handle my gravel needs.
Why not just look at 3T Exploro or OPEN UP or
the like?
I have but they are $$$$$
Not ruling them out but just got my wife a diverge.
I have a Felt 3X cyclocross bike (few years old). Has disc and I put 38mm tires on it with no issues. If I threw 28 road tires on it would be an upgrade to my current road bike!
NS Rag+ Road geometry but with room for up to 2.2†650b tires
.
The new Roubaix?
How about the Focus Paralane?
what gravel bike id you order? I have a gravel bike want problem right now…
Ha - I was looking at the Diverge for my Mrs. also! Great minds…
Well - you could get one of those for yourself too.
Or go a bit more road-ish w/ the Roubaix.

That I’m aware of - with what you’d call “road” handling (i.e. not a slacked-out gravel bike), the Surly Midnight Special. Fits 700x42 or 650x50. I had one for a while and it was a fun bike and handled great. Didn’t really like the axle system, though… very tough to use on an indoor trainer unless you use a QR rear wheel.

The new Roubaix apparently has 33mm tire clearance.
I have a Fuji Gran Fondo 2.3. With 30mm tires on it it has tons of clearance, I can send you a pic if you want. I’m sure it will clear 35s. I like it a lot. Got a good deal at Performance before they were sold, but I’ve seen them around for about the same as I paid. I personally would need lower gearing to use it on gravel, 34x32 is the low, but if you’re a strong rider that wouldn’t be an issue.
All City has a few that fit, the Cosmic Stallion looks pretty sweet.
