I picked up a beat up, scratched up Caad 9 off of ebay. It’s naked aluminum, circa 07, with decals.
For next season, I’d like to paint it nice and purty and build it up with some nice parts. My team colors look like this:
I can obviously paint it black, and run green housing/bar tape like I did on my giant. But I’m thinking maybe paint it matching intergalactic green, then run black housing/bar tape, and put green hudz on.
Hard to go wrong with the way it is…black works on bikes. Your team color picker should be summarily fired with cause and prejudice. That is seriously atrocious. It reminds me of the vomit scene from The Toxic Avenger.
Keep rocking the CDal alum that will drive the carbon weenies insane.
I’ve been wanting to experiment with painting a frame with metallic wheel paint (going for that sort of black silver metallic). Or perhaps matte plasti-dip (you know, the plastic stuff they coat the handles of tools with). I might do a bike with white plasti dip then have a friend who is an artist graffiti it up. Just to have something different and interesting compared to all the other bikes out there. Much better for you to do it and have it suck than me. Though I guess none of that would match your kit.
I say paint it metalic black, then put on a dark green pearl and finish with matte clear. The effect will be a really deep, rich black that looks very dark green from certain angles. Then you can go with either lime green Hüdz and accents or mix in black with the lime.
