Topic says it all; I’m trying to decided what bars to put on my BMC TM-01. I have a fairly aggressive position as I am a time trialist and only have to go 40k unlike a triathlete I figured ST has alot more aero info and knowledge than any biking forum so this might be the place to ask. I would prefer an integrated/one piece design with some adjustment.
The bike is spec’d like so:
SRAM Red 2012 (black)
Quarq Powermeter with either Fibrelyte or SRAM Aero Rings
Zipp 900 Disc and 808 Front
My short list is:
Easton TT adjustable
USE Tula
PRO missile Flat or Evo
HED Corsair
I guess I’m asking what you would put on a TM-01 if you had one?
Interestingly enough, he bought the TM01 because in the manual, all frame sizes are listed as UCI compliant. When he got his bike, he noticed the sticker was not there from UCI. He is currently working to a resolution with BMC, and right now they sent a ML frame to use instead of a L frame (which is the one that is NOT UCI legal). It isn’t going to work, so I have no clue what he is going to do now if he chooses to race Nationals.
Just a heads up. GORGEOUS bike, but BMC is not being honest with its taller customers.
Good suggestion; I’ll ponder that one as well. I think that would look really good, seems to have a good aero profile and a great weight.
Also that sucks about the wrong sized frame.
I really really like that! one question that I have is about the decals; I would want to keep the red sections but remove the white lettering most likely. How difficult do you think that would be? I see that it overlaps the red on on one side but is it a sticker or is it under a clear coat and all that.
Pro Missile Evo works VERY well with the TM01 stem, almost as well as the EVO stem. Where the cables come out is right in line with where they have to go behind the TM01 stem. THe stem cover hids the cables from the wind as well.
I would venture to say that the Pro Missile Evo bars are the best option for the TM01. And Di2 works perfectly between the Pro Missile Evo and TM01.
