I just finished my custom commute/gravel project and took it for a proper “Copenhagen winter” maiden voyage. It started as a stock Marin Nicasio+, but at this point, only the frame and saddle remain.

We’re having an abnormal amount of snow right now, so the commute to the swimming pool was the ultimate test. I was riding through a mix of slush and packed snow, and the bike felt incredibly confident and planted. The 35mm tires and the new hybrid hydraulic brakes are a game-changer for this weather - everything feels fast but very controlled.

I absolutely love how the steel frame handles the chatter, though bike theft is a massive issue here in Denmark. It’s actually one of the reasons I stuck with steel, hoping it looks a bit more “utility” and less “steal me,” even though I might have made the custom copper paint job a bit too nice. Currently doubling up on locks and hoping for the best.

It feels great to finally have it all together and realize that it actually rides even better than it looks!

I have a 2018 Trek Fuel ex 8, bought used from a Trek employee. I live and ride near Madison WI so there’s plenty of Trek employees dumping bikes and parts. I also have a LaMere full-suspension e-bike. I’m retired and I ride all winter near Tucson. Take both bikes back and forth.

Norco Fluid something or rather, bought about 4yrs ago.

Entry level dually. Works just fine for me. Used on single track, bike paths and a little road.

I just recently moved from an Orbea Terra to an Open Up Rapha Team edition. Campy Ekar 13 spd, Enve Cockpit, and new Hunt 35 gravel wheels. Rides like a dream. Taken it on 4 rides so far. Simple gravel rides. Need to hit some more serious stuff to find out what it can really do.

Recently sold my Crux frameset and went with a new Enve Mog. Kept a bunch of the components but upgraded to Force 1x13 and Enve 1pc bar/stem. I need to make a few small position tweaks but otherwise I’m loving it. The bike is more planted and stable than my Crux was but still fast and snappy, and the 1x13 is huge upgrade on the road.
