Oakley lights originally, then Oakley eyeshades. I think they were also refered to as “Oakley Factory Pilots”.
That is one of my all time favorite triathlon photos.
A bit of trivia about this photo: Scott Tinley, the lad in the photo, had a large “Saucony” logo screen in the black field on his singlet. for some reason, when this ran as a magazine cover, that logo was gone…

uhm…sunglasses?
ETA: Tom is right, Oakley Factory Pilots. I had a pair in screaming yellow for the longest time. Had a foam cushion all round the edge.

Finding those now is tough. They came in five colors: Black, white, red, blue and a very rare sea foam green.
I still have four pairs in assorted colors. Word on the street is Oakley collectors pay big bucks for them on E-bay. They are an icon. An artifact. It was part of the original “uniform”.
Here I am wearing a pair at some race in Ohio circa 1985 or '84:

And yellow. Had a pair of those.

ah ha. I stand corrected. Yellow.
I have a pair of the red ones. I just checked ebay and it looks like they go for upwards of a 100 bucks. Wow. I might have to sell mine.
If you post them on the E-bay Japan site, you’ll do even better.
Forget the sunglasses what kind of minimalist runners shoe are they and is that Velcro holding them on.
Nike Sock Racers.

they can’t be minimalist… we all know that VFFs were the first and best minimal running shoe and that Born to Run was the first time anyone had ever thought to land midfoot
In thought he looked like a Mexican Indian but his head is to big.

Soooooo, are you way out in front of that race (no-one else in the pic), DFL or the only one that entered?
No-one misses those sunnies, or running in “budgie smugglers”
Back then I could do OK, so I was up there a bit.
