Wait, what? For a minute I thought you were asking if there were any good songs by David Byrne. I’m a huge Talking Heads fan and like some pretty eclectic stuff, but his solo works are garbage. Try Look into the Eyeball.

No.

That’s what I thought. Dude must write click-bait ads. Just listened to More songs about Buildings and Food last night.
Edit: Just looked and saw that album was originally released on vinyl an 8-track.
*Everything That Happens Will Happen Today, *his “reunion” with Brain Eno was fairly decent … bu that was 8 years ago now
And his collab with St. Vincent, Love this Giant

David Byrne applied this technique time and again. He considered cities: each had good points and bad points. What of animals? “They say animals are hairyâ€. Finally his observations reached a stunning peak: on “Once In A Lifetime†(named for how often anyone needs to hear it), he told the world that “There is water at the bottom of the oceanâ€. In other words, David Byrne made Jonathan Richman look like Hegel.

I do not follow that article. Do people listen to the words when they listen to music?
I enjoyed listening to Talking Heads last night because it was fun music. I have no idea what he was saying. So I guess they were a decent band and which might explain his lack of success on his own.
Seriously, there are artists where I care about the lyrics. A lot. I just don’t take talking heads seriously in that way.
The Rei Mono album was ok. Dirty Old Town.

I love this album, but for me its the music and lyrics. Its a pretty cool concept using the different South and Central American dance themes.

That’s probably for the best … as bright and fun as they sounds, those songs can be very VERY dark

You seem conflicted about the talking heads (silly and random, dark, or not dark). You must be a big fan.
Actually, I *am *a big fan. I’m just quoting some essays from people with varying opinions
And no two TH songs are ever *quite *the same. One certainly can’t imagine that “Stay Up Late” and “The Overlord” were written & performed by the same bunch of people
Did you know DB wrote “…And She Was” about a girl from his high school in Baltimore who would take LSD and lay down in a field by the YooHoo factory?

Agree. I also like a few songs off of his next album, Uh Oh (Girls on my mind/Hey look at me now) but haven’t listened to anything since.
Well looking at their discography earlier today, I realized that I could use some more of their albums.
Currently, I have 77, More songs, and Speaking in Tongues all on original vinyl. I had Little Creatures on cassette or CD but it got lost. So what should be on top of my list for expanding the library? Fear of Music?
Remain in Light is funkier than Fear of Music, if you’re into that sort of thing
If you can find The Name of This Band is Talking Heads, it’s a pretty cool live recording
I’d forget about Naked
.
I heard “Lady Don’t Mind” recently on Sirius XM for the first time in God knows how long, forgot how good a song it was.

You, sir, are dating yourself.
I’ve got 77, Remain in Light, and Stop Making Sense; all on vinyl; all purchased new at great expense for a starving student.
Although it’s nothing but a cover, I remember hearing Take Me To The River in 1977 and experiencing an immediate and dramatic paradigm shift.

That’s nothing
I also saw them at CBGB in '77 , Walnut St Theater in '78 and the Philly Zoo in '79
Adding in Cherry Hill in '80, Trenton in '82 and the Mann in '83, I’ve seen *them *more than anyone except AC/DC or The Grateful Dead
