Since the new forum format change, a lot of special characters, like ’ (apostrophe), are no longer displayed correctly. Furthermore, there are no longer any way to tell if a portion of the post is quoted from a previous post. And, there is no date/time display for any post.
What am I doing wrong?
FWIW, I am using Safari (v18.1.1) on Mac OSX Sequoia (15.1.1).
Quoting works. But, posts from the old forum do not show the old forum quoting.
To quote something, simply select the text you want to quote. Once it is selected, a small drop down will appear with a “quote” and a “copy quote” option.
I don’t understand what you mean about special characters though?
Post date/time are displayed in relative format (how long ago) until the post is over a month old. Anythimg older than a month displays the absolute date of the post.
Some special characters on old posts into the import don’t look great.
There is not a way to fix this beyond going post by post to edit them, which given the sheer size/scope of the project, is not in scope of our tech team for the foreseeable future.
Sorry for those hoping for a different answer…
I have a weird snafu where every time I log in on different computers or phone my password is always “wrong” (even though it’s not). So I’ve essentially had to reset my password every time I use work / personal / phone.
Emailed support?
I’ve never seen support as an option, only option I get is “I forgot my password” that lets you reset it (and if you do it too often you get temporarily banned).
I had similar issues, emailed support, and they took care of everything. I am still learning this new forum, but I have been pleased with the service and responsiveness.
