Wetsuits at Hawaii 70.3?

Wetsuits are permitted at Hawaii 70.3 if water temp is below 78 degrees. Does anyone know the water temp now, or the traditional water temp in previous years? Should I bother to haul my wetsuit down from Washington state?

AFAIK, it’s always been without a wetsuit at Honu. Rightfully so. Leave your wetsuit at home.

No need wetsuits but I think speedsuits are still legal.

In seven years of racing 5-6 X a year in Hawaii I have seen one wetsuit legal race - in March. Very unlikely Honu will be wetsuit legal.

There is no need for a wetsuit. Water will be warm. If you get a chance, go snorkeling around the northern part of of Hapuna, it is very nice. Hapuna is my favorite beach in the world. That is where God vacations!

I vacation there as well and as a matter of fact will arriving on the 7th a week from now for a family vacation and a post race transition week + few days over. I reserved Suzie Q, 51cm P3 with Bikeworks and will be cycling Queen K after the 11th.
No wetsuits there. If it is legal, than there is something terribly wrong with weather there, which I doubt even remotely possible.

Yes, I rented a nice Cannondale from Bikeworks last August and rode the Queen K one day. Miserable hot windy day- I loved it!

Hello pacificfit and All,
