I just repaired a major rip in my wetsuit. It was practically ripped off at the ankle…a good 5 inch tear. I used wetsuit glue and it worked perfectly. I did the outside first, let it dry, then turned it inside out and filled the voids on the inside. Swam in it last night and that repair is bombproof.
I don’t have a B wetsuit unfortunately and had an overzealous helper in the afternoon TTT race rip a huge hole in the right armpit trying to get it on over my sweaty body. It’s a 2003 Ironman Stealth and am debating just buying a new wetsuit.
Next year I think I’m skipping putting it on in the afternoon race.
I tore about a two inch hole in my wetsuit this spring and repaired it using some Gorilla glue.
There’s a particular one that says it works on foam.
I just laid the wetsuit flat, coated both edges of the tear and put it back in place with something to lightly hold it in position. Left it overnight and the next day it was totally solid. I’ve raced in it three times since with no trouble.
I have to suggest http://www.MadisonWetsuitRepair.com with their lightening fast turnaround and great prices. Contact them for shipping details. Normally only going to run you $20 round trip plus a fair amount for the fix. Or just ask them their thoughts. They may walk you through it on your own.
