I have a question about this type of advertising. One of the local retailers gives some of his branded kit away for obvious reasons to some of the faster people around town. But then he’s also selling the stuff to the MOP people like myself, and I’m always curious why people who are not sponsored by the local shop are willing to sport the name of the local shop.
it can easily pay off in the end. you buy a shirt from the shop owner, I can almost garantee you that shop owner will remember your face next time you come in. it can pay off down the road. For instance, there is a local running store which “sponsors” our tri club. We still have to buy the tri apparel with their logo on it, but when I come in looking for new shoes, the owner knows who I am and where I will be running. I have gotten some fantastic deals through him.
