“I’m not that big of a logo person to begin with”

That’s OK. As a general rule, big logo’d gear, in this market sector is not that big a seller. From my years involved in this industry, you need to have some of the stuff both as a wholesaler/manufacturer and as a retailer, for promotional purposes and to sell to the niche group of customers that wants to buy the gear, whatever it is, with the big brand or shop logos on it. However, for the most part, many consumers are like you and would seem to prefer a more subtle logo on their gear.

You need to get some hip hop/rapper types into your wetsuits, you could really up the logos…

“You need to get some hip hop/rapper types into your wetsuits”

That’s a great idea, and we could get them doing something like this:

Done old-school Run DMC style.

I’ll run it by the marketing team(me!) here.

respect!

I have a question about this type of advertising. One of the local retailers gives some of his branded kit away for obvious reasons to some of the faster people around town. But then he’s also selling the stuff to the MOP people like myself, and I’m always curious why people who are not sponsored by the local shop are willing to sport the name of the local shop.

it can easily pay off in the end. you buy a shirt from the shop owner, I can almost garantee you that shop owner will remember your face next time you come in. it can pay off down the road. For instance, there is a local running store which “sponsors” our tri club. We still have to buy the tri apparel with their logo on it, but when I come in looking for new shoes, the owner knows who I am and where I will be running. I have gotten some fantastic deals through him.
