My current wetsuit is a 2XU E2, size small tall. It fits pretty well but I can’t get the velcro closure at the neck tight enough to prevent flushing. I can feel water enter and make its way down as far as the elbows. Are 2XU suits generally considered a slim cut? Does anyone know how they compare to Blue Seventy/Xterra/Orca or Sailfish in a given size. I think I could probably take a size small in most of these suits according to their size charts. I’m 5’10, 145lbs, 35inch chest.
2XU is the slimmest I’ve used, I have a 2XU T:0 and it fits my 6’2" 165 frame.
Consider De Soto. Thats what I use and I really like it. Can mix and match top and bottom sizes. I am 6ft 148# with long lean legs. Great customer service from De Soto too.
i’m 5’10" and 142 lbs and a TYR hurricane S/M fits great. they run smaller than the TYR size chart suggests.
I actually had a De Soto previously, size 3 top and a 4 bottom provided a great fit. They are not readily available in Europe and much more expensive over here.
When you say “flushing”, is that water entering the suit… because that is supposed to happen to a degree. The way a wetsuit works is by allowing water to enter the suit and a thin thermal layer is produced by your body warming the water. If by “flushing” you have water free flowing constantly, then the suit is too big. That aside, I’m 6’ and 140 lbs and I use an Orca wetsuit to race in. If your looking for a new suit I would find a tri shop in your area and go in for a fitting. Wetsuits are the one piece of clothing that you shouldn’t order over the internet without a good idea of what actually fits you.
Thanks for the TYR suggestion. They seem well priced.

interesting. I’m 5’11 and 143 lbs, and found the s/m is really snug. as in ‘it’s zipped, but it’s pulling down on my shoulders / up in my crotch uncomfortably snug.’ i do have fairly broad shoulders / wide chest / long torso. i haven’t got it in the water yet, but i’m thinking i need the next size bigger and don’t want to cut the tags. it is a nice looking suit though.
Yes, by flushing I mean water continously getting in there. Unfortunately I don’t have the possibility of going to a shop locally. I will have to order online and I’m just trying to narrow down the options before I start.
