Wetsuit for Long Torso Short Legs

I need to get a wetsuit for IM Switzerland and would appreciate some advice. I am 5’11", but have only a 31" inseam. My torso and arms are long, my legs short, and shoulders fairly broad. Weight: about 170-175, but will probably be around 165 for IM. I’m an MOP’r, live in warm water, and only do an IM every few years, so I don’t want to spend more than I would for an entry level suit: less than $250 if possible. I can’t go try on suits for size because there’s no place around me. Any suggestions on a suit that might fit my body and budget would be greatly appreciated.

Try the Desoto T1

Aquaman Bionik or Metal Cell are both long body as I remember.

Possibly go for the sleevless or look on Ebay

Honestly I would check the expo at IM swiss. I got my wet suit at IMOZ and the fitter was one of the top fitters in OZ. ( blue seventy helix) I was also able to swim in it before i purchased it AND it was cheaper than buying in the USA. I would seriously do that if I was you

I am certain that I could get a better fit by purchasing on site, but I do not want to wait until a couple of days before the race to get the suit I will be racing in. I want several training swims in the suit to get comfortable swimming in it and removing it for T1.

Get a DeSoto T1. I have the exact same build as you. Fit’s perfect.

Another Desoto vote. The beauty of the Desoto two piece design is that you can get a different size for top & bottom if necessary.

I remember when I bought mine a few years back- Emilio called me personally to make sure I was getting the right size and gave me excellent advice in that regard. Even if you buy from them remotely, I am sure they will take care of you and make sure you get what you need.

I’m in the same boat as u only with a 30" inseam instead of a 31". I’ve got a T1 and it’s been great. Fits like a glove and doesn’t make me feel hunched over like most of the one piece suits I tried on did.

Seems like the T1 is the way to go. Just looked at pricing, and if I understand the chart, I can get a smart1 3/4 bibjohn and smart1 pullover for $250. I had considered the Desoto two-piece earlier, but just assumed it would cost me more for a two-piece entry level suit. So much for assumptions. Thanks for the suggestions!
