West nile ... I think I've got it. Seriously

I’ve got most of the symptoms. I’ve been exhausted/fatigued all week, sleeping 14 hours a day. Muscles are achy, I feel as if I’ve had a tough workout, but have barely got off the couch. I rode 40 or so miles on Saturday, ran 5 on Sunday … and nothing, but sleep, since.

Anybody had it?

Who needs a doc when you can post questions to random strangers on the internet?

I think it’s a bit premature to rule out Ebola.

are you in austin?

did you give this shit to me?

I’m recovering from West Nile. Ignored my lovely wife when she told me to spray down because the mosquitoes are vicious out there. Multiple bites and a few days later rash on the trunk, low grade fever, muscle aches, headache, neckache. Went out riding and every bump I hit I’d get this shooting pain the the neck, head and eyeballs.

Symptoms lasted 5 days. There is no specific treatment for the viral encephalitis or meningitis. Mainly, you treat the fever and muscle aches and rest. Your symptoms will limit your activity. Progression of symptoms–worsening pain, confusion, high fever needs to get evaluated. There are a whole slew of viruses that cause menigitis and encephalitis. It’s not bacterial because by now you would be dead or in a coma. My viral serologies are still pending but drawn strictly for academic purposes. Low levels of WNV are reported in mosquito traps right in my area and I live next to a marsh that is never sprayed. The good news is that I now have lifetime immunity to the disease.

as long as you don’t overtrain

or get a mutant!

Sounds like the flu to me. Why do you think it’s West Nile?

the flu is so boring

so…

common!

Well it could be the swine flu!

…and as everyone knows, that is really just the Bacon Flu, and that
is ST approved.

Obviously the only cure is: MORE BACON!

-Jot “I’ve got a disease, and the cure is more bacon!”

Nope, that’s the symptoms of swine flu… you been making out with any swine lately?

Seriously, have a doc run a test. I ended up with mono. Just thought I felt like crap and had allergies. Wiped out for months.
