We're going to the Tour!

Along with things like a Formula One Race (check), Wimbeldon (not yet) and the Paris Air Show (not yet) the Tour has been on my “to-do” list for years. It almost didn’t happen, though! With the assistance of Senator Kay Bailey Hutchinson I finally got our passports today, one day before the kids and I leave for France. Why I didn’t get them until today and who screwed up is a Lavender Room thread in itself!

The kids have been watching the tour with me since they were babies so they’re almost more excited than I am. We’ll be traveling to Grenoble to check out the busses etc. during the rest day, and then we’ll be on the mountains watching stages 10, 11 and 12… the first epic mountain stages (Galibier, Madeleine etc.)

If you’re watching it on TV look for us… my son and daughter will both be wearing their Stars and Stripes jerseys (probably not a lot of those on the mountain) so their friends will recognize them on TV and I’ll be somewhere near them (no S&S jersey… I’m too slow) taking pictures with my new cool camera and big white lens!

I’m such a TdF nerd that I had to share my joy!

Lucky Bastard!!!

My girl and I share two of your to-dos: Wimbeldon and le Tour. We don’t have either yet, but someday…

Wear your Peaceful Tribe kit. Have a great time. What a treat for you and the kids! Bon Voyage and Go Lance!

Sounds like a great trip. Have fun!.

LOL… as my Dad always said “luck comes from a lot of hard work”… I guess that answered the “bastard” part too, didn’t it
