Well, I guess this is how it is now

Most of the week last week it was 90+ degrees (including at my race last weekend). Today I was just doing an easy 10 mile run. “Easy” for me means 140-145 bpm, which usually translates to 7:50-8:15 mins/mile. Today it was 89% humidity when I went out, and 92% when I got home. My average pace was 8:34, and I had to really be careful to keep my HR from going to high.

I hate the summer in the midwest.

Same in the southeast. I’m moving back out west just as soon as I can.

Hey, training in the worst conditions only makes you stronger. It’s all preparation for Kona; keep thinking that!

BTW, I freaking get chils every single time the Ironman Gatorade commercial comes on TV. I will be there some day. I may be 60, but I will be there.

Yeah, I hear you. I’m doing Wisconsin in September. It’s it’s still humid, then I’ll have a leg up after training in it all summer. If the weather is better, then who can complain?
