Welcome to tyranny

Who’s going to make them comply? The DOJ? Laughable. If they don’t willingly comply and the DOJ does nothing about it…

Welcome to tyranny.

@jimatbeyond are you getting ready to fight against it?

The disbandment of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau is frightening.

Since I lost track of what should go where, I will drop this nugget here.

I got a formal notification email this morning. The Idaho legislature is pushing through a bill to end our state’s WWAMI affiliation. Since Idaho, Montana, Wyoming and Alaska don’t have medical schools, the University of Washington School of Medicine has long-standing agreement to be the effective state school for these places, with in-state tuition and then a formal training track for Idaho students who then very often return to the state to make up the medical community.

The Idaho legislature plans to defund this and withdrawal.

Well, JD Vance is already laying more foundation for ignoring court decisions they don’t like.

“Judges aren’t allowed to control the executive’s legitimate power,”

This is the stuff that you should be worried about. Seriously. The tariff nonsense is just that. Nonsense.

This is the slippery slope to a Dictatorship. And they are charging down the slope at full speed IMO.

No evidence that this administration is trying to become an authoritarian government

This what I think of, when I read the admin is attempting or rather, doing, Flooding the zone.
Barrage of activity creating chaos, obfuscating what the real goals are. If there are actual goals.

I am nostalgic for the tan suit outrage days.

“Mark my words. … They are going to basically tell the U.S. Marshals Service, do not enforce any of these orders, we will not obey them, … and, once that happens—I hope it doesn’t … but I know in my heart that it will—our 236-year experiment … in American constitutionalism, is over.”

Well he is correct on that statement. But the judiciary is allowed to control illegitimate abuse of power. They are also the ones who get to determine was is legitimate or not.

If some really awful, Nazi or Stalin level stuff happens, I have little faith that Guru could change course and admit he backed that sort of horse.

No the clowns supporting Trump are either fine with the tyranny, or they’re ashamed and keeping quiet. But if you don’t understand at this point that we are running towards a dictatorship and we are mirroring what happened in 1930 Germany, you’re a fucking idiot.

I saw an ABC news poll that showed something like 53% approval.

I guess I didn’t move far enough North then. Hopefully, I am just catastrophizing, and it will settle down at some point and we won’t have to flee the country. But, I am not sure.

That’s CBS, not ABC.

Fun fact: CBS is embroiled in a lawsuit with Trump (its frivolous) and is considering paying him off to end it.

Take this poll with a bucket of salt.

Slowguy’s point still stands. Vance is giving us their playbook. They will announce that what they have done is legitimate and ignore the courts. The DOJ will turn a blind eye to what they are doing and they will continue down the path to authoritarianism.

And all the dumbasses and their fucking 2A who have guns to defend the country against a tyrannical government are … where?

… mostly happy with the current changing environment.
