Weekly Accountability Thread: Nov. 18

How are you? How was your week?

YO PEEPS! 222 days of healthy coping in a row - a palindrome of this set of 100s so that’s always fun. Thanks for helping me get here. Having these threads really does that, even if 95% of the posts are mine - so thanks for the space.
goals were

  1. Add 7 days of healthy coping to get to 222 days (a palindrome!) - DONE
  2. 1800 calories a day DONE
  3. journal daily DONE MOST DAYS
  4. PT daily DONE
  5. don’t overdo my new mobility DONE to the best of my ability, as am now trying to figure out what the limits are. There was some accidental overdoing but I did the best I could and, importantly, didn’t do anything stupid
  6. don’t overdo scrolling and typing (wrists developed carpal tunnel from typing laying down for months in a row while making hip recovery) DONE mostly, like a B+ here
  7. use 2 min pause skill DONE a few times

I think I turned the corner sometime Thursday AM. I figured something out PT-wise in terms of what motions hurt, what it meant, and how to fix it. I’ve not been entirely pain free since then, but I’ve had a LOT more pain free time, and am way more mobile.

Goals for this week are
a. another 7/7 days healthy coping to get to 229 days
b. practice and use the 2 min pause skill
c. journal daily
d. wrist and leg PT daily
e. don’t overdo unnecessary scrolling and typing
f. don’t overdo new mobility
g. 1800 calories daily

As I said I believe I (we) rounded the corner I was waiting for. Next up: period, please  I’m doing my part here.

hugs to you all! Looking forward to hearing how everyone is. Let me know if there are any specific ways I can support you this week. If me mentioning your name in this thread daily asking how you are helps, ask me and I’ll do it. Etc. Whatever I can do for others.

223 days in a row healthy coping
about 1800 calories yesterday

hi everyone! xoxo

224 days in a row… THIRTY TWO WEEKS!!!

calories might have been a bit under 1800 yesterday, had dinner at my aunt’s and have no idea on the estimate. Just had some body signs later - though not hunger - that it might have been a bit under.

Had two more active days, was in pain overnight, I want so badly to be normal that my brain keeps convincing me I am, then it crashes. Day in bed today!

overall things are on the up and up

Very busy right now, so only a quick note. (Maybe easier tomorrow.)

TC: Awesome for the teaching award! What an honor. I’m also thrilled that the surgery is done and you can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I can’t keep up with all the things Chowders is doing/accomplishing, but way to go for you too.

My lower right leg went bad again, so that held me back BUT: I ran into an acupuncturist (from Korea) while waiting for my daughter at orchestra rehearsal last Wednesday, and it reminded me that I used some magnets (with a friend’s help) to recover from my IT band stuff years ago, so I decided to put on the magnets to see if I could help the leg recover. I went from not being able to walk half a mile (up through Thurs.), then limping 11-1/2 indoors on Friday (first day with the magnets), and was feeling good enough to do a proof of concept starting Saturday. So, starting that day I did

19-1/2, 24-1/2, 24, 24, and 24 miles the last 5 days and most of it felt easy, so things are very good all of a sudden. (It does take me about 6 hours to do them, however, 3:10 walking the 12 on the treadmill and 2:30- lightly jogging the 12 outside.) (I’m still using the magnets.)

Since I tend to get injured when I try to bike I’ve lowered my bike seat by 1-1/2 cm and will start doing some work on the trainer without even having my wheel touching the trainer (making sure it’s not the movement that’s causing the problems.)

All right, I’ve got to go. (My wife’s not thrilled about the amount of time I’ve been spending ambulating, and I aged a whole year overnight.) I’ll be cutting back to about 12 miles/day starting tomorrow.

I also apologize for not remembering who’s who, but I’m sorry for the loss of your cherished aunt (Scheherezade?), and amazed by the 10th place finish (as a 55-year-old?) by another poster.

TC:
I hope Monk doesn’t see your opening post! Going from numbers to letters and then switching 2 and 7 (or is it b and g)? Sheesh!

WHERE IS PINK?

yay magnets! glad they helped.

225 days in a row, plan today is more time sitting / less laying

225!!! go meeeeeee!

Recovery week here; my legs finally don’t feel wrecked going up the stairs in my house. Just in time for openers tomorrow and a hard workout Saturday

I also applied for a mentorship opportunity (I’d be a mentee) - should find out in the week before Christmas whether I got it or not.
