What are you doing?
Hi from Maine! Flying back here went ok on Tuesday and on Wed. I saw a surgeon who is going to fix my hip on 10/18.
I can’t move very well without pain so my weekend will be like my days… mostly in bed. But I’ve got parents around so there’s more entertainment there w games to play and stuff.
I’m on intermittent FMLA leave, so I’m likely to spend time working bc then if I need time off during the week due to pain med issues or whatever, I don’t use a bunch of sick time.
Things are better than they were last weekend!
Watching it rain.
Friday - beers.
Saturday - mountain biking and more beers and college football.
Sunday - gravel biking and more beers and pro football.
My kids are going to spend time with their dad, and I’m having my girlfriends over to play dominoes on Saturday night. One of my friends will spend the night because she lives out of town. She has a chronic disease requiring surgery under general anesthesia every four or five months. She had her surgery yesterday. So it will be a very mellow get together. It’s byob. I intend to serve tea— so it’s actually going to be a tea party, I think! lol
My fiance is in Louisville for a festival this weekend, camping. After last nights rain and the next days forecast she broke down and got a hotel room. It sounds like that whole side of the country is getting new lakes this weekend.
As for me, Denver Century is saturday morning, planning to take it easy with friends and celebratory beers afterwards. Rowdy boys weekend I know.
About a year ago I posted about getting back into sailing and buying a 32’ boat. We pretty quickly realized the boat was a bit small to use the way we intended. Yesterday we closed the deal on a Beneteau 423. This weekend is mostly going to be getting the old boat ready to sell.
sometimes you need a bigger boat
“getting new lakes” made me laugh. (The situation isn’t funny but the phrase is)
We had a nice trip to Colorado last week.
This weekend, I have a bridesmaid dress to hem for my stepdaughter, and I am taking a kolache baking class tomorrow. Maybe seeing the grandkids Sunday.
Definitely need to stop putting off the sewing, though.
Next week I start baking the treats for the dessert table at the wedding.
Picking my daughter up in Maryland and driving her across the United States to her new job in San Diego.
Tiki cocktails and craps party!
It’s a long weekend here, it will be nice to have three days to unwind.
Tomorrow is a ride with a friend and then a local Ukrainian cultural festival. I plan on eating lots of pierogies and borscht!
Sunday is up in the air, probably some stuff around the house. I’m on a local Board of Trade judging panel for business awards so I have to get in my picks for the short list, probably do that Sunday.
Monday is National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. A friend and I are going do to a self-guided walk of indigenous murals that were painted as part of an annual mural festival. And maybe find an event to attend.
Starting fall yard work. Rockies games Saturday and Sunday to finish out the season.
Heading to Ireland for our 30th anniversary.
Castles, gardens, Guinness, and Irish whiskey are in our near future
In Brisbane watching the tail end of some football match. It seems like Brisbane trounced Sydney. There seem to be a lot of happy people around.
happy anniversary!
today I worked for part of the day, read for a bit, watched tv, took a short nap, and requested an absentee ballot.
