Anybody ever use WD-40 for cleaning their carbon frame, deep dish wheels etc.? I know it will do a good job cleaning and leave a shiny finish but I wonder if it causes any damage.
Anybody??
Not all carbon is the same, (actually you need to worry about n the outer coating and the resin matrix). So you need to ask the manufacturer of each part. That aside I wuldn’t worry about it. Wipe it of after using and be careful of logos and decals unless you want to remove them. Also be careful of the brake track on wheels, not a good place for lube or residue.
Styrrell
Most carbon parts have a PU protective clear coat on them, this helps protect the resin from UV and other environmental and chemical damage.
So generally most chemicals that don’t affect the PU such as WD 40 are fine. Amourall is good for carbon parts also.

I’ll second lemon Pledge. When is Johnson Wax going to learn that they could relabel it bike polish and charge 3 times as much.
