Any thoughts on choosing between these two sets of extensions? The Drag2zero hi-rise ergo set up with ergo grips comes out to £250, the aerocoach minimoi comes out at £390. From claims it seems there’s more aero claims for the minimoi (although all wattshop rather than independent so…), and it certainly ups the cool factor in terms of looks, however it is £140 more…
I’m also looking at some new arm-rests (current vision ones have too beefy an inside edge to manage to mount a bottle cage bta), which are looking like circa £115 for aerocoach align as the best option (one of the cheapest pre drilled deep armrests with minimal inner edge I can see UK wise), any thoughts on other armrest options?
I can’t push the student saved up budget up to the £700+ for full integrated extension systems like the anemoi or ascalons, but this is a long term front end investment I’m looking to make, for not only my big races this season but also looking forward for the foreseeable, so I’m trying to gauge if with that in mind it’s worth going slightly more for the minimois.
In terms of position, I have a tilt block under the poles/pads as part of the vision basebar/risers system so can adjust for slightly different termination heights without having a disconnect between pad and pole angle. I currently have USE high rise 40’s, however I’m looking to go slightly less high hands which looking at specs both of the options fit nicely into the slot I’m looking at for still raised hands but not quite as high.
For reference as well I’d been holding off the upgrade due to awaiting some metalwork out my elbow so I could be sure of my positon without it in there making things less comfy, and now I’ve had it out a few months I’m ready to make the permanent upgrade to the system with a settled, comfy position to work from (bar slightly high hands pushing my head up slightly when out on the road as I have to hold my head higher to see over them down the road rather than the more tucked position I can sit in on the turbo as currently my hands are just too high to sit in with visibility of what’s ahead).
