Wattage for flat road

Did a 22.5 km TT in 43:19 on the computrainer at the Peak Centre in Ottawa along with 7 others linked to the system. Elevation ranged from 1-3% with maybe 3km downhill total. Numbers were avg watts 248, peak 444, avg speed 31.2 km and 2.8 watts/kg.

Just wondering what would be an estimated wattage for flat road as that is what I thought I was going to be riding. Wanted to pass that info back to my coach as a test marker.

Also, because of timing and when they run the TT’s I had done a 2:50 LSD run the day previous and a 30 min Swim TT the morning of.

Thx for any help,

Jim

I don’t think your avg watts would change, so I would guess 248. If your peak was 444 watts you could improve a bunch by working on your pacing.

Tried to keep my Hr in LT1 which was around 172-175 for the duration, picked it up a bit at the end.

I’d agree with above, peak of 444 wouldn’t be that suprising on the start of a TT so short, so a 240ish average sounds reasonable.

Thanks for the input, much appreciated.

Jim
