Can anyone point me in the direction of a good waterproof and UV resistant bike cover that they use for storing their bike outside?

I think you’re asking the wrong crowd. These guys mount their wheels on the wall as art and wouldn’t even think of leaving their bike in the garage let alone outside.

In all seriousness…what is the scenario were you need to keep it outside? Does it need to be portable? I would think security would be as big an issue as keeping it from the elements.

There are lots of apartment dwellers who store their bike on the balcony…just one reason I can think of.
I too would try to dissuade you from leaving any bike outside. I’ve lived in some small apt’s and always had them inside.
I have two bikes outside on an apartment patio, and use a large outdoor patio table set cover. The cover is thick and totally waterproof, has preformed top and sides so it is sort of a cube, open on the bottom, it is big enough to hold two bikes side by side. My patio has a bit of an overhang so the bikes are not directly exposed, but I like the open access at the bottom, but still keeps the bikes nice and dry. Not sure if that will work for you but the cover was pretty cheap (~$20) and works great. Security is another issue altogether though, but assuming you’ve got that covered and inside the apartment isn’t an option, you may want to try it out…

Check out a motorcycle cover. I used one for a while and it worked fine. BUT, I’ve known several people with bikes stolen from apt. balconies.

Can’t have the bike inside anymore as the old bike room has turned into a play room for my 3yo and his old bedroom as turned into a nursery for my 3 week old and slowly but surely all the bike gear is having to find new homes.
Maybe the ST alternative is putting the kids outside?
