You’re grossly underestimating how good the USSS snipers are.
They wouldn’t have hit someone else in that hypothetical. Not from that distance when the only target is running across the White House lawn. They’re shooting from an elevated position so a hypothetical missed round isn’t going to go zinging across into the street or Ellipse.
