For those of you who have the Kickr Desk have you used it do regular work on? I was thinking of also using it as poor man’s ergonomic desk.
Thanks.

I bought the walmart version and it does the job — I am using it for WFH and while on the trainer:
They are out of stock — but probably can find something similar vs. paying the wahoo tax.
I listen to conference calls on mine - the ability to roll it forward and backward makes it worth it to me. Wish I’d have bought it sooner
Save some bucks and get an Amazon knockoff. Works great.
FYI the Amazon desk is back in stock. Act fast though as it sells out quite often.

No delivery where I am in the EU…😢
.
Anyone tried to make their own desk? I’m thinking about it. Doesn’t look hard to make with some 2x4s and throw some wheels on it.
I haven’t built one but I have built a bunch of other pieces of furniture, and it’s pretty simple with a few tools. Where it gets more complicated is if you want adjustability… Or if you want to add some more advanced features. Ironically, I am actually using my adjustable work bench as a trainer desk in my pain cave when I don’t need it for projects around the house. It cost a fraction of what the Wahoo desk (or even the amazon knock off) costs, and works well, has a textured surface so nothing slides off of it. I’ve added some velcro on the edge, and to the back of my remotes, so I have the remote for our TV, the front fan and for the speakers that can stick to the sides,a nd not take up surface real estate…

Is it me - or is the Amazon knock off now more expensive than the Wahoo version???
It’s simply timing. There are several “versions” of the knock-off. All exactly the same but under a different name. They go in and out of supply fairly frequently. A funny quirk of that is that when they are out of stock, there are some resellers that try to capture a few over priced sales from the gullible. Simply check again every few days until they are back in stock.
in europe you can get through wiggle: https://www.wiggle.co.uk/lifeline-trainer-table?sku=100628970
its currently out of stock, but check frequently, they stock up quite often

Honestly, the KICKR desk is a real POS. I bought one from a member of this forum. Slides all over the place on hockey skate wheels. Goes up and down crappily. For the price you could do much better.

They always put a “list” price that makes no sense on these knock offs. It says “list” 299 but it’s $123.66 right now which is half of the Wahoo version.

This – I had looked for the one sold as “Rad” and it was out of stock with a seller offering one at a price higher than the Wahoo… but the desk sold as “Vinsetto” (exactly the same) was ~$125.

Thanks for the heads up. Just ordered the RAD. I almost never order a knock off, but twice the price, how much of a value prop can the Wahoo desk really offer???

DCRainmaker also points this out that the Rad desk has more features then the Wahoo (bottle holders and wheel locks). That said, you do need to take a file to the cable ports to make even the thinnest cables fit through (they’re 1-2mm too small, but there’s plenty of plastic that can be shaved off so no idea why they haven’t fixed the issue).
I made my own with about $40 worth of material.
Based my plan off Lunch Ride MTB’s website.
Not the KICKR Desk, but a good reliable (and much more affordable) option that I’ve been using and really enjoying:

I have been using one of these. I like it better set up beside me.
Amazon version (RAD) is available now 11:15 AM PST 2/4/21 for $123.62 (PRIME eligible)
