Wahoo Kickr Clicking with Fly Wheel

Any Kickr owners run into an issue where they get a “clicking” noise from their flywheel? I’m working with Wahoo support and they said it is an issue with the pulley and provided a video to replace it which makes it seem like a known issue. I’m curious if this is widespread and a long term issue that could occur again.

I get a clicking noise when I mount my road bike on my kickr, almost like I’m cross-chaining or something, but its fine when I mount my tri bike. I’ve checked to make sure the droupouts are sercurely seated so I’m not sure what’s causing it, but I don’t think we are having the same issue.

Wahoo Klickr!

Sorry, couldn’t resist.

Quick side question, just got one and not sure if I am missing something but I mount mine and it is not balanced right…on the drop for the fly wheel, I have one side on the casette but the otherside is the skewer so it is uneven? I’m tired and having a moment I"m sure…tks

I’ve noticed I would get some type of clicking when my tri bike was on the Kickr. At first I thought it was related to the horizontal drops and not seated properly against the set screw as I don’t get the same clicking with my road bike. I mostly ride my road bike on it, so I haven’t been overly concerned though.

That’s odd that we are having the same issues, but with opposite bikes.

Had the same problem with mine. It’s a known issue with some kickr’s that were made in an early production run. I sent in the video for them to verify and had a new kickr on my doorstep in days. Wahoo Rocks! Can’t even ride a computrainer anymore without laughing!

I had the same problem as well, I believe it was a loose nut or bold. I send a video of the Kickr while the noise was going on and Wahoo sent me the new Kickr right away. As Tridude said, its a known problem from the early production runs. My new one is running great.

Awesome and thanks for the heads up. Hopefully the new pulley resolves the issue and no other issues arise long term

Interesting… why do you like the KICKR so much better??

I have been thinking of of getting one to replace my CT.

Started a new thread because I’ve been asked so many times. If you can sell your computrainer for a decent amount I would pull the trigger. See here http://forum.slowtwitch.com/gforum.cgi?post=4893304;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;;page=unread#unread
