i just downloaded the android version on my samsung note which has a ton of storage space, will try the new app soon. our old ipad mini does not have storage space so had issues with the videos before and aside from no power matching had me stopping my subscription but just bought a friend`s direto so will try again and hopefully complete the knighthood process
I’m coming over as a previous Sufferfest subscriber. So far I like the look of the new app and the extra content - I had considered ditching the platform after exhausting the content, but I’ll give it another cycle with the new content. Most of my bread and butter workouts I was using Zwift’s workout creator and group rides which worked for my schedule/intensity, since I wanted something that was more than bars on the screen and I had already done all the videos several times over.
I’m looking forward to trying out the new strength videos but I fear I’ll quickly exhaust that too - I had maxed out on their Strength program and judging by how they re-cut the program it looks like I’ll slot in on their top level (5) on this new program as well. That and the library of run/swim workouts, though I’m curious how they’ll integrate since its just a library for the moment.

just, you know, for the record, point of order and all, our story on this was already up when you posted. we do review things here. (newsflash!)
Dan I wish there was a little more of this. I was trying to race/train with my Iphone and apple watch and seriously its a little overwhelming just trying to get something to interface and give me my heart rate which should be quite simple. all these systems and apps still seem quite fragmented.

Staying in the Wahoo world, since this is thread is about Wahoo - they do have a simple app that should let you display heart rate from most HR sensors. It’s called the Wahoo Fitness Workout Tracker. You can pair, and then quickly display your data. For running, cycling in the outdoor world, as well as KICKR and treadmill indoors. It’s pretty intuitive and works well, in my experience.
Now where you’re absolutely right is that Wahoo not only doesn’t play nice with outside apps (e.g. Zwift, Garmin, TrainerRoad), they don’t, yet, play nice internally.
E.g. they have this nice workout calendar where you can plan your season. But if you go out and do an outdoor run using a Wahoo Element RIVAL (why isn’t it RVL?) or Element Bolt (BLT?), you don’t get any credit whatsoever on your training calendar. Any workout you do, even on Wahoo products, that you don’t initiate from this one app, simply doesn’t exist within the SUF/Systm app.
And in my cohort, though I know lots of Sufferfest…SUF…Systm?) fanatics, none of them workout exclusively in the SUF world. They all do outdoor stuff. Almost everyone who races indoors uses Zwift, even if they do workouts on other platforms. And all that other stuff is a major part of any training schedule.
I assume this is all coming. I’m just mildly surprised they didn’t roll this out in this app update I’ve been hearing about for around two years. (And COVID isn’t much an excuse since the app developers can all telework!)
Sorry! I saw it pop up on Facebook and forgot to check here
A lot of this is coming over the next 6 - 9 months. Including the integration of outside activities in the calendar. If they deliver, it should be pretty impressive. This has been a 2-year development and content creation effort using internal resources. That is a huge accomplishment.
Wahoo’s recent pattern has been to release a little more than their minimum viable product as early as they can, then slipstream major upgrades over the following months.
Checking out their Sufferlandia Facebook group there are some really bent out of shape Sufferfest users. I’m guessing they’ll get over it and they may just be a vocal minority but you’d think they’ve been told they can’t train anymore based on some of their outrage posts

I do cry one tear for the corporate cleansing coming to its inevitable end point. But then move on.

I don’t disagree and it’s okay to be a little upset but some of those posts you get the sense of they’re upset because it’s somehow stripping away part of their identity. But that’s no different than any other Facebook group. I’m part of concept 2 Facebook group since I have their rower and there is a lot of good tips on their Facebook page. But some of the posts people really just wrap a large part of their identity around that.
But yeah. I’m a move on quickly type of person
I’ve been content with Zwift in the two years that I’ve been using it. It’s definitely gotten me training indoors more frequently, but I’m not really interested in the social aspect or new worlds, drop shop points, etc.
So far, my trial run with Systm has been favorable and I’m likely to switch. It appears the big trade off is the lack of live, interactive events such as group rides or races. Am I overlooking something? Do you think Wahoo will add that type of functionality?

I’m giving it a go. Paused my Zwift subscription for 2 weeks to try it out, and I’m exactly one workout in to the SYSTM.
What I like:
much much much simpler / better interface than Zwift.
Quick to load the interface.
Neater screen, without the random boxes placed everywhere.
Integration of Yoga / strength training into the training plan
more engaging content, at least for now.
From what I can tell, you seem to build a training plan in 3-4 week blocks yourself, rather than a canned 8-12-16 week behemoth with all the individual blocks. I like the slightly more tailored approach. I’ve scheduled in the introductory 2 week block followed by a 3 week base training block, it was very easy to do.
As far as metrics and such go, I understand that’s coming, but it’s not a deal breaker. The completed workouts sync up to Stages Link which is where I do my tracking, I’m assuming that they sync to Training Peaks as well.
I don’t have a coach nor do I write custom workouts in Stages Link, so I haven’t even looked to see how to push workouts down to SYSTM, but I wouldn’t be using that anyway.
My eyesight is shit, so I also don’t really care about pushing workouts to the head unit or watch. Outdoors I keep it simple and just remember what I’m trying to do.
So far, I like it. Going to try yoga for the first time tonight, and will probably break something… Half Monty tomorrow…
