Is it just me or is the main forum getting wackier by the day? Some crazy guy with too much time on his hands and a personal web site is pissed off about an e-mail sent by someone who may or (more likely) may not be an STer. Loneliness seemingly at a peak with all those dating threads and, who can forget, the “who’s the prettiest” thread. Francois making me feel stupid with the DNA thing – what in the hell is he talking about?? Someone wants to participate in the sport but train only 2 hours a week (I’m exaggerating, but not by much).
Used to be that the whole teacup of crazy resided in the Lavender Room. Go figure.
Dog days of August. Many on the edge, if not way over, on the overtraining scale. Sleep-deprived, ultra-caffienated folks pounding away at the keyboard thinking “dammit, my point of view is the only acceptable one!!!”
I think this kind of thing goes in cycles on all the forums or newsgroups I’ve been on. It should normalize—that being a very relative term—at some point in the not too distant future.
The whole reason the Lavendar Room was started was because all that craziness was in the main forum. Every once in awhile it flares up again, and Slowman tells everyone to take it out of the main forum, and things get semi-normal over there again.
Most triathletes appear pretty normal to me when I see them before the swim and after the run but this forum indicates that there are some pretty unusual currents beneath the surface.

I have noticed the same thing it seems like its on a really steep down hill, hopefully things will turn aound soon. Its getting to be more of a whinnnig fest this week and anything else.

They all need to get laid.
I am teaching a class on this next spring
Assuming you can deal with an accent that goes from aussie to texan to us without too much trouble, you’ll get all that DNA stuff easily by the end of the semester.
Besides, it’s not that complicated…but pretty interesting (to me at least)
