Vittoria tire delaminating - warranty?

I bought new Vittoria corsa tires about 6 weeks ago, glued them to my race wheels. After less than 100 miles, the tread on the front tire is peeling off in three places. I called the guy from whom I bought them and he told me to send it back to him and he would send it to Vittoria so they could determine whether or not to replace them. Seems reasonable enough, but I was wondering if anyone had this problem and do you think he should just replace it right away?

Did you buy it from a bike shop? When I had a similar problem (also a Vittoria), my bike shop owner gave me credit (what I paid for the Vittorias) on a more expensive set of Vredesteins.

I had a Diamante Pro tire look like it was coming apart on the inside. It looked like it came unraveled inside, then as a result it bubbled out when I inflated it. I used the contact form on the Vittoria website and heard from a guy at BikeMine (their US distributor) in a few days. He said you can send it directly to them (he gave me a return #), and I had a new tire a week after sending it.

I should also point out that I made sure to mention how new the tire was. ~100 miles, inflated to 110-115psi, never on the trainer, etc.

I bought it from Lickton’s in IL, nobody around here stocks high end tubular Vittorias. He was pretty defensive about it, I wasn’t giving him a hard time on the phone, just asking. I sent Vittoria an email this morning.
