Just picked up some Vitt. Tubies. Do I need to do anything special to the tire before glueing it to the rim? IE, the inside of the tire seems to have a smooth finish, do I need to roughen it up or clean it with a cleaner (if so, what kind of solvent?)?
I’ve heard that you should not mix different glues, so it may not be worth taking a chance.
You should lightly rough up the smooth surface. I’ve cleaned mine up with just standard rubbing alcohol just to make sure that there was no kind of residue left on the surface.
