Hi, i was wondering if anyone can recommend some cycling videos that basically show what one would see on a bike ride. Kind of like a virtual ride. Are the sufferfest videos like this? The “previews” for these videos just show a whole bunch of scenes, but its not certain whether the video is taken from the point of view of the rider.

Tacx make a number of Training “Video DVDs” for use on their Fortius motorised resistance trainer which can be run as a normal DVD. They are from a riders POV.

Real rides make some videos that are pretty good if you are stuck on a trainer. I used the real rides IMCDA last year. Saw their ad in one of the triathlete mags.
A lot of the Sufferfest videos are from this perspective, but not exclusively. They use mostly UCI footage, so most of it is from motos. Some of the non-UCI footage is from the point of view of the rider, if not actually from a bicycle (though the cyclecross footage in Local Hero is pretty awesome)
I have 4 or 5 Sufferfest videos and they definitely help pass the time on the trainer, it’s like you said - basically it puts you in race scenarios as though you are racing, it’s not first person perspective the whole time but enough to feel “in it”
