Anybody have first hand experience with these wheelsets? Could you compare and contrast, se voi per favore?
What is a Vento or Shamal wheelset worth, assuming good condition?
Shamal always had a better hub than the Vento. Shamal was also lighter and in the HPW12 series had less spokes. The latter (black) Shamal went up to 12 spokes. I really really perfer the Shamals feel over the Vento (yes I have both).

I have Shamals. Rarely ride them on the road, mostly are my trainer wheels. Tubular. Seems damn near bombproof and ride just fine. I know a solid ironman who rides them, big boy, too. Loves them. Excellent value used.
ventos are heavy. shamals are less heavy, but still heavy (by current standards). both are very fast wheels, once you get them spun up to speed.
i had a pair of ventos for a long time. absolutely impossible to destroy. they felt fast. i liked them. i got rid of them because they were 8-spd Campy compatible, and i got a new bike with Dura Ace 9-spd.
id say a nice set of ventos is worth probably $200, give or take. shamals a little more.
Yes - bomb proof - and many revoews call them faster than any other wheel on the market today, or ever.
Whoops, you asked about value. I think they’re $250-$350 on eBay.
