Does anyone have any experiences with Velocity Rims at all? I was thinking of getting a Velocity Spartacus Uriel Wheelset specifically. I don’t want to pay big bucks for something, however, I want something that is durable and yet still somewhat “aero”. The special they are having at trisports.com seems fairly reasonable. Any thoughts?
Thanks for the input!
Good wheels, no problems here so far. I got the Velocity Spartacus set from SpinLiteCycling for $160 a month ago. They have pretty good prices, might want to give them a look. Good luck.
I got some Velocity Deep V rims on a stock wheelset with a new bike a few years ago, and they performed quite well. Not real light, but I thought they were quite durable. As a clydesdale athlete, I tend to go through rear wheels pretty quickly. The Velocity rims (28 hole) held together for about 3 years of riding on roads that were fair, at best, before finally giving out. The typical lifespan for a rear wheel, for me, is about one season. I then went to the bike shop and had them order me another Deep V rim and build me another wheel. I would highly recommend them for anyone looking for a nice, durable wheelset.
Velocity deep v with 32 or 36 holes are about as bomb proof of wheels as are made. I have a couple of other Velocity rims on track and training wheels and have had as good of luck with them as any other company.
I like Mavic but was snake bit on a set of nice Mavic’s with the dreaded Mavic click problem. G
