The Velcro that holds the pad to the arm rest came off my arm rest; can anyone suggest how to re attach it? I’m thinking good old super glue, but some of that stuff can melt plastic.
Just use a spray on 3m contact adhesive. Worked great for me.
also, local hobby store should sell velcro pads (with adhesive backs) which would work if you don’t want to glue it.
Dollar stores have a whoe bunch of self adhesive options, velcro strips and pads. also carpet tape can work wonders (I love being cheap with my $3000+ bike)
I have had good luck using gel epoxy glue to stick the velcro on to the armrest.
Thanks for the suggestions.
home depot also sells velcro, I imagine amazon does as well. I have had to replace the velcro 1x per season.
Like others have suggested use Velcro Strips with self-adhesive backs. Get the industrial strength version.
When I switched to Cee Gee pads on my bike the stock velcro setup was opposite of the Cee Gees. Instead of using the flimsy kit that Cee Gee sells (plenty of complaints on holding strength and losing the pads on roof racks or hitch racks) I bought the Industrial ones instead in 2" strip size. Cut them to match the arm rests and it holds very well (survived a rain drenched trip on a hitch rack at highway speeds and didn’t budge at all).

I am always losing velcro off my arms pads, then again, I ride things (use things) till they die. Instead of re-gluing the Velcro, I would just pick up some new industrial strength velcro. Stuff is great for all sort of projects, and I keep a little sliver in my tri bag along with some electrical tape, a few extra zips ties for last minute emergency needs. Here is a link for 2x 4inch by 2inch sheets from Amazon Prime for less than $4. Have it by Thursday.
General FYI on sticky stuff - I do a lot of glueing and use a lot of Velcro and from long experience, DO NOT use cheap s— generic glues, epoxies or Velcro. Use the good brand name products - there IS a difference. If it doesn’t matter, go ahead and use $ Store glue but if you don’t want your arm pad falling off halfway to Hawi use fresh, good quality adhesives. We’re only talking about a couple of bucks more and the peace of mind is worth it.
