A friend of mine is selling a 2001 Principia TT28 frame and fork. Any ideas on what is a reasonable value? What about a ballpark for aluminum TT frame in good condition in general?
Thanks.

My husband rides a 2000 Principia rs6 Pro. New he paid $1600 for the frame via pro deals from the cycle shop that sponsored his college team, but new it was $3000+ from what he can remember. It’s an aluminium bike, but at the time, the lightest race ready frame on the market, which is why he chose it. During my search for a new bike, I looked for any Principias and ran across the same bike he has (built and well ridden in this case) and on Ebay found one for $900. Components were quite different, but in his case, he’d never part with his baby… actually, I’m pretty sure he’d happily sell ME before he had to give up his bike! I’ve run across quite a few Cervelo P2/P3 aluminum frames from the 2005 era for under $500, but the Principia is in a league of its own, since there are so few. Better to price it a bit higher and be able to come down to an offer that the owner is comfortable with, than price too low and regret… unless they don’t care what they get out of it. Hope this helps!
